My husband and I cruised on the Freedom of the Seas on October 29, 2006. We had a good time, but it could have been better, if not for all the smoking going on, which I will explain later. On a cruise you can do as much as you want or as little as you want. We chose to relax. The service on board was excellent. The crew were the cream of the crop, especially our waiter. The food was good. The cabin was clean and made up twice a day. The entertainment was great and Ken Rush, the Cruise Director, had a lot of energy. Halloween on board the ship was fun.
Both my husband and I are non-smokers and allergic to cigarette smoke, but on this ship there was smoking all over including the non-smoking sections. We had a balcony cabin and when we sat out you could smell the smoke from everyone that had balconies. I will never book a balcony cabin again. Our hallway reeked of smoke. When sitting in tenders to go over to the Cayman Island and Labadee, passengers were lighting up without any consideration for anyone else. While sitting in the non-smoking section of the pool people decided to stop and light up. We have cruised on other RC ships and never encountered a problem like this.
