This was our 5th cruise on Carnival first time on the Dream.

Ship - Pros - We Pretty much knew our way around the ship since they are all basically the same layout. There were a few exceptions. We do like the new outside deck 5 that allows for a lot more self time with out a bunch of people around since most people are on the other decks. Plus in the evening no one is on that deck and you pretty much have it all to yourself all the way around. Nice walk. Another plus is on the front of the ship on that level there are no lights. At least late at night there isn't. There are two benches to sit on and you can see lots of stars. We like the center walk through in the casino area also on deck 5. Other then the smoke sometimes is a little strong in there but being able to be in the middle of what's going on in there is pretty neat. Of course some people might not like that the smoke, walk fast or use the 4th floor.

Cons - as stated by many in lots of places on the ship they seem to short handed. No where near the amount of staff at the food areas serving and a lot of them seem to be more about talking to each other in non English then to smile and be interested in serving the guess. The one exception is the dining room for dinner more on that soon. Breakfast in the dining seemed understaffed at times also as did the past guest party. If your a service industry I would think staffing is one area you look long and hard at before cutting staff. Read more
