My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our 7 nights aboard the POA.
We set sail on Saturday 7th September.
Most of our daily tours were done through Roberts. All were well organised and enjoyed by us both.
Sunset on top of the Volcano in Maui was spectacular!!
In Hilo, we did a day tour with Marylou......just four of us plus Marylou. What a great choice of tour company to see beautiful Hilo. Marylou was very informative and being just the four of us made it very personal indeed.
Our day shopping in Lahaina, booked through NCL was also a great day out, doing it all in our own time.
Our last day of our tour was spent in Kauai.......we decided to do a 'doors off' helicopter flight with Jack Harter. Again a very professional and well organised business. The flight was AMAZING! Wow, the only way to see the amazing untouched beauty of Hawaii!, highly recommended to anyone!!
As for the ship, I had read previous reports re the condition of the ship.......we could not fault it. I really do not know what people expect!!
Bed was super comfy, plenty of cupboard and drawer space for everything.
Our steward was super efficient and could not be faulted, as with all the other staff. Always ready to help find your cabin if you were lost or with helpful hints for the day in port.
We enjoyed brekky on the Aloha Deck each morning. Food was varied, from fresh fruit, yoghurt etc. through to eggs, bacon pancakes etc. no waiting was experienced.
We dined in the Liberty Room a couple of times as we did enjoy the ambience of the room and the food was alway pleasing. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable with the food on the menu and his advise was always on the mark! Thankyou, David and Stevie for making my birthday dinner very memorable.
Lunch was had in the Aloha dining area and with lots of choices to be had.
Entertainment was varied, we did catch a few shows and thoroughly enjoyed the Four Seasons Show. What a talented group of entertainers.
Poolside was often buzzing!! The first night sail away was fantastic, a great way to get us all in the mood!
A CC Meeting was organised on Embarkation Day, thanks Lisa. Was nice to meet lots of the Officers, with a nice cool drink and cookies to greet us. Lots of questions were asked and answered.
Pity there was no Lava to be seen as we cruised past but that is Mother Nature for you!!
The slow cruising past the Napali Coast was spectacular, we enjoyed the view from our balcony!!
A last word about Sylas the Head of Entertainment.......how utterly charming and helpful. His smiling face seemed to be everywhere, to say, enjoy your day onshore or to welcome you back on board, ever smiling !! Obviously loving his job!!
I cannot commend NCL highly enough for such a pleasant experience onboard the Pride Of America!!
Thankyou to all who made my 60th Birthday trip to beautiful Hawaii unforgettable.
