We took a 12 night cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas from Vancouver to Hawaii. We arrived in Vancouver the night before and stayed at the Pan Pacific. What a beautiful hotel. They made the process so simple! Once we called the bell hop to pick up our luggage we did not see it again until we were on the ship. We have taken several cruises and are very loyal to RC. We love the service that we receive on their ships and this one was no exception. A special thank you to Belle from the activities staff and Chef Daniel who is the Sous Chef for the specialty restaurants. They were able to pull off a special surprise for my husband for our anniversary. It was greatly appreciated and meant so much! Also, the activities staff did a great job of engaging the passengers during the many parties and specialty events they had.
We loved all the ports of call. The process at each port was organized and easy. Snorkeling in Kona and Maui were wonderful. The cruise ship stayed in Maui overnight and it was nice that the tenders in Maui ran late into the night, allowing the possibility for passengers to easily go back and forth. We took a helicopter ride in Maui also and that was beautiful.
Our cabin was a junior suite on deck 8 and right off the elevators. We really liked the location. The height of the ceiling was a little low for my husband when he was in the tub but he made it work. The service in the dining room was terrific and I can't say enough good things about the specialty restaurants cuisine and service. We didn't attend all the nightly shows but we did enjoy the ones we were at. When also spent three days at the Hilton Hawaiian Village after the cruise. Although the resort was beautiful, the customer service was hit and miss there and that was for a diamond member! I realize the service on the boat may have spoiled us but I was disappointed with the service at the Hilton.
Our cabin was a junior suite and was located in a nice area of the boat. We were about 3 cabins away from the elevator and the area that you could look over at the atrium. You could rarely hear the music from the atrium several decks below. It was large enough for us and we really enjoyed spending time on our balcony, especially when we were sailing away from our ports. There was plenty of storage and it was a comfortable stateroom.
