All in all a good cruise.
Let me start out by saying that RCCL is my favorite cruise line. We are Diamond Plus Members.
I am going to try not to compare the two lines too much.
Embarkation: As usual in Baltimore things go so smoothly. Carnival has a "Special Room” for Suite Guests to check in. Everything went fast and then we were shown a place to wait to board the ship.
Upon boarding we went straight to the Excursion Desk to finalize the Villa on Half Moon Cay. Since we were in a suite we were able to drop off our carry-on luggage.
Mermaid Grill for lunch. Carnival has a lot of different stations with different foods, so there weren’t too many long lines. I would have liked to see the food hotter.
Cabin: We were in an Ocean Suite on deck 6. Right away our Cabin Stewart "Deddy” came in an introduced himself and asked if we had any request. Our request for extra pillows was filled very fast.
I had had this cabin before and really liked it " More it had a little dressing area. Also had a whirlpool tub.
Dinning: We were traveling in a group of 10 but 2 of us were seated at a different table. A request was made to the Maître’d and we all got to sit together. Our waiters were great. Castro, Dallas, and a girl server (forgot her name). One in our party could not have anything with alcohol, and a representative from the kitchen came over every night to show her the menu for the next day so her food could be prepared without alcohol. Our girl server caught that the cake we were served had alcohol in it and promptly removed it. The Chocolate Melting Cake is to die for.
Grand Turk " home of Margaritaville. Lush Pool with plenty of shade and chairs. Had a swim up bar which was on one of our friend’s bucket list. Souvenir s were very expensive at Margaritavlle so we shop at different shops. Had a Del Sol, Ron Jon Surf Shop, and several other stores.
Half Moon Cay. OMG what a wonderful excursion! The 12 of us rented a "Villa”. Two stories, hot tub, kitchen, bathroom, dining table, and plenty of loungers. The beach was wonderful. The softest sand and warmest water. It was fabulous. BBQ lunch was included.
Freeport " not much time there so we just walked around.
Disembarkation. Due to heavy winds we were over an hour late getting into port. We were in one of the first groups to get off after "Self Assist”. Walked into the luggage area and spotted our bags right away.
Home about 45 minutes later. Less
