Ship Facts: Pride of America Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Pride of America Deck Plans
1st time cruiser - family of three

Food: Buffet ok, waiters and chefs happy to help food quality better than we expected although catered directly to old Americans (we're Australian) with lots of sugar on things that really dont need sugar like bread and fried food. Not everyone likes dirty percolated coffee.

Service: Speciality Restautants were fabulous, we pre-booked/pre-paid for dinner one night and the staff were really great when we changed this I thought we would forfeit our $25 per head.

Chefs Table (-additional $90 per person) was amazing and meeting head cruise chef was great.

Cabin: extremely tiny for three it was silly, Karl our steward wasn't great cleaner but he smiled and knew our names and noxious lay waited for our daily tip evn though we had per-tipped. Towel animals were waiting every second day and fresh towels very plentiful.

Room service: The room comes with coffee per ulster which we stored in wardrobe as we drink tea so we called for room service boiling water about three times daily this was fast and delivered with smile.

Teens Club: "peaches" disgraceful untrustworthy, lazy bitterly complains about her job and not getting tips, kids thought she preferred them to stay with her she wouldn't participate our pass on messages. Shame on her.

Embarkation: 30-40 mins just what we expected.

extras

Nightly shows: boring this ship catered for old early to bed cruisers and big early afternoon drinkers.

Tipping: we are not familiar with tipping and since this cruise we fond we were over generous with our tips, it would make things easier if ships paid their staff fairly.

Extras: we received a lovely cake one night for my husbands 50th birthday and another cake and song for our wedding anniversary another night. photos ship takes in each port and on stairs are expensive however they are souvenirs.

Excursions: overall we elected o do our own thing we hired cars in Maui and Kauai - cars great option a although I would have preferred to receive the nightly newsletter as a first night brochure so I could plan better. I would have changed my excursions in hindsight but not by much.

Best excursion: Tubing in Kauai

Most expensive Excursion: Helicopter over Kona

Best Snorkeling: Hire own equipment com Bobs and we followed their recommendations based on actual daily weather

Best tip: relax go with flow
