Fantastic

Sail Date: September 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Just returned yesterday from our my birthday cruise with hubby.

Flew down the day of... Landed at noon and used RCI bus transfers and we were on the ship by 115.... Fast and easy

Room ( D1... 10598, balcony ) was ready, dropped off carry on and headed to wipeout cafe for a quick bite....

Muster drill for us was in studio B( deck 4)... Trying to make it back up to our balcony before sail away was interesting....one time you know you are on a ship with 6000+.

Luggage was outside our stateroom when we returned from the muster drill about 5p.

After reading many reviews... We decided to do the windjammer for dinner.... Loved it! So much more relaxing than the MDR. Went to bed early due to early day in Nassau.

Nassau... Nothing interesting... Been here before.. Did the glass bottom boat tour... Very nice. Did a little shopping. This was formal nite.. So we did the dress up thing and ate in the MDR..food was good, but slow service. More

We did all the shows and they were fantastic....carnival needs to take note.

As you can see from my signature we have done a few carnival cruises....

RCI wins hands down on entertainment !

ST Thomas ... We did sapphire beach... Very nice

St Maarten... We did the beach rendeveous to orient beach... Great time... Lunch that was provided was better than expected.

We ended up eating in the windjammer the rest of the week... And we loved how relaxed we were, no need to dress up.... We had a lot of extra clothes we didn't wear.

We did eat at Chops one nite, and it was very good, but very crowded... You may want to skip this place on the 1st sea day.... But it was great food.

We had Johnny rockets every morning except 1 time we ordered room service for breakfast on our balcony... We rec'd complementary mimosas... Very nice way to start the day

Johnny rockets breakfasts was fantastic...hot food, eggs cooked to order and it wasn't crowded until the last sea day... The secret was out... But definitely a must do for breakfast.

We did go to the windjammer for our last breakfast on departure day, not bad, but slightly crowded.

We do like being seated by a server in windjammer and having them bring our drinks.... Something carnival doesn't do, and the set up of the stations are way better on RCI.

We loved our room attendant Roshan... He had one more cruise to do after ours until he got to go home... He said his contract was for 7 months... Then 3 months off, then he will return back to the Oasis.

We pre-paid our gratuities, because we had to, .... Added extra to the envelope they give to you the last day for WOW service.... He was GREAT.

We did luggage express... Love it! And we do this every chance we get... Luggage was set out the night before debark and we didn't see it or have to touch it again until we picked it up at our home airport, they also print your boarding passes for you.

So we debarked with just our carry on bag at 745a, customs was easy and fast, took the RCI bus to the airport, went directly to security with our boarding passes and at our gate by 840am... That includes hubby's detour to have a smoke before entering the terminal. We had an 1125 flight, so I had plenty of time to catch up in email... FYI FLL airport has free wi-fi.

Overall... Cruise was FANTASTIC! Less
