First time on board an MSC ship and what an experience this flagship vessel was! Luxury design and finish in every room we walked into.
From the moment we walked on board we knew we were in for a treat and the quality of service and design couldn't be flawed at any stage.
Cabin - absolutely stunning balcony cabin, quite spacious for two people and the facilities were very good. The cabin steward made every effort to improve our stay on the ship and was very approachable.
Food - As with all such cruises the buffet breakfast and lunch can start to become a little repetitive after several days but nevertheless the quality was very high, meanwhile at night the menu was varied and all cooked and presented to a very high standard.
Entertainment - not something that we really engage with on any cruise, but would have been challenging on this ship during the daytime as it was mostly in Italian (just as one would expect on an Italian vessel), but the evening entertainment was often English led.
Excursions - Can't comment as didn't join any of these, however the provision of shuttle buses by the excursions team for some ports were very good. Worth noting though that at some ports a cheaper or free version of the shuttle bus operates from the port also.
Our only real issue about this cruise was what appeared to be a horrifically disorganised check-in procedure at Naples. It is something we put on our feedback forms at the end, but in summary the concept of cruise is predominantly luxury... 3 hours sat on a marble floor in Naples cruise terminal waiting for our check-in opportunity to come around was in no way a luxury experience.
