This was our first cruise on Norwegian; we had sailed on another cruise line in the Caribbean three times. Because school was in session, there were few young children. Most of the passengers were middle age and older, which was a very comfortable demographic.
The cruise employees worked very hard to offer a pleasant experience. The ship was clean, thanks to Lincol,n, our room steward and many others' efforts. The food was very good. There were healthy options from which to choose. Our table chief in the Grand Pacific, Jeff, was very helpful and attentive with a special request.
Dining Free Style was nice. Each evening we met interesting couples at our table, contrasted to sitting with the same (sometimes boring) people for a week at an assigned table on the other cruises.
We loved the shows each night. I was at first disappointed when I found out that Second City and the Murder Mystery luncheon wouldn't occur during our cruise. Jeff Harms, the comedian, is hilarious. He is a master of the apparent extemporaneous repartee' with an audience. Charles Peachock, the juggler, was very entertaining, not only for his juggling acumen, but also for his use of humor. Who would expect a juggler to be so funny? Kyle, the cruise director, was outstanding, managing to find humor at every opportunity and to engage the passengers at each event. He is the best cruise director on any cruise we've taken. Deal or No Deal was a blast. The singers and dancers, especially Jay and Ohnikol, were extraordinary. The extravanza on Friday night had a special segment at the end that was a very creative, funny idea-its creator is a genius. Don't miss the finale-see it twice if you can.
We liked the ports of call a lot. .
