Pride September 15th

Sail Date: September 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

We cruise a lot, most lines, various accommodations. This was our 4th sailing on Pride in two years, we sail Island Princess on Oct sailing 10 day soon. We had OS 6181, friends had 6183. Different Cabin stewards but both good, ours exceptional. Suite excellent space, Carnival suites have no special amenities of any value, simply size and priority boarding and disembark.

I have reviewed Pride here before so will keep this short. I like Carnival food, dining room atmosphere , NOT so much. Carnival Pride staff and crew were EXCELLENT. Ship was clean and acceptable, consider does dry dock next year I believe. Cruise was inexpensive and convenient which is why we sail Pride form Baltimore. 4.5 hour drive for us from NY. Good parking reasonably priced compared to NY. We go day early at stay in White Marsh by White Marsh Center, great area to walk around and dine close to hotel. WE like Embassy Suites or Hilton Garden Inn but many to choose from. Pier but 20 minutes away by car. More

Food was good, very happy with smiling staff, only exception was casino staff. Some bar servers seemed a little less than happy at times as well. Dining staff, waiter Frasier, excellent.

Note luggage is scanned, searched our friends luggage left card that had searched and found/removed nothing. They actually held mine and called me to Guest relations. Mine was locked, had me open it and searched it, found nothing. BOOZE folks they are looking for BOOZE! 56 cruises never had this happen. Guy taking luggage at pier advised that they were actively scanning luggage looking for BOOZE. Cheap cruise onboard revenue is everything. Maybe that's why bar servers not all happy? Too many passengers smuggling booze? Definitely a drinking and smuggling passenger group ;) No big deal, they were courteous enough. Still I worked in a max Jail for over 20 years, don't cruise to be searched. Not for BOOZE anyway. Was tired of Pride anyway. Will sail RCL out of Baltimore or Jersey for a while for easy cruises.

Passengers can be the pain on this cruise not Carnival staff, again they were great! You must go knowing that class is not paramount concern on these sailings. Shorts, tee-shirts, guys wearing baseball caps at formal dining? Worth it to cruise cheap. Not a snob, a working stiff back in the day, but really some of these people would be asked too leave Mickey Dee's. That said if you don't mind or never owned a suit in your life or even a real pair of pants ever the price makes this a good cruise!

Comedy club the best. Buffet area very good, but all food is different for all. We like Carnival food even more than RCL or Princess food but eye of the beholder.

Good value only because of price. Weather was great, we don't go for ports we go for ship. That said Canaveral did alligator excursion, no alligators, nice airboat ride though. Billed as everglades, not really, river fishing camp. Friends did excursion for fishing at Freeport, bot couldn't get motor started at first, hot water offered for price, They elected to return not wait refund without a problem. Nassau we did casino at Atlantis and Marina pizza at Atlantis our usual. The itinerary with Grand Turk and private island better one but we were bound by friends schedule for cruise date.
