Wife and I have done 20 cruises on 6 different cruise lines. This was our 9th cruise on Carnival.We were accompnied by my inlaws.
Embarkation was a breeze. in 15 min. we were on the ship
Debarkation went quickly as well. Off the ship by 08:00 as we had an early flight out of FLL.
The food in general was good. The buffet fare was pretty much the same every day. We had breakfast here every day and a couple of lunchs as well. Liones can get long during rush hours.It was good, not great.
Guy's burger joint is fantastic, great burgers and fries. The Iguana grill(mexicain) is also very good. Pizza Pirate at the back of the ship is very good. Made to order pizzas when they are not to busy.
The C-Side BBQ serves good pulled pork which is not drowned in BBQ sauce. You get to add it yourself. Also good sausiges.
We tried the sushi restaurant. It was good but not much of a choice. Would not go for a full meal.
The one place you must try is CHEF'S TABLE. Yyyuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmyyyyyyyy. We rolled out of the galley. We ate and drank all that we could, is was that good. It costs $75 pp but well worth it. The food was excellent, the service top notch. We actually ate in the galley. The chef Jerry Furtado explains how they prepared the food. Billy our server always made sure that our wine glass was topped off.
Service in the dining room(Saphire late seating) was spotty. Some nights quick other times so as molasses. So slow that on the last night we left without desert being served as it was already 10:00. They don't seem to grasp the meaning of RARE when it comes to meat. We had to return our steaks on 2 different occasions and 3 other nights we just ate the midlle. Couldn't be bothered having to wait an other 15min. for other dish.
Room steward(Fernando) was excellent.
All in all it was a nice cruise and nice,new Carnival ship.
