The Norwegian Epic is huge! Our only other cruise we ever took was on the Pearl, to Alaska. We love Norwegian because of the freestyle concept. I am more of a jeans and t shirt kind of guy than a suit and tie guy. The sheer size of the Epic was daunting at first, but it became quite easy to get around fairly quickly.

There were many good things about the Epic and the excursions that we took. We ate at Cagneys, Moderno Churrascero (sp?), La Bistro, and Teppanyaki. None of the specialty restaurants disappointed. We appreciated the Moderno enough to rebook later in the cruise. The shows were great! The Beatles, the Legends of Rock, and the Blue Man Group were all a great and wonderful experience. The crew that we met were all very personable and the Ice Bar was a lot of fun.

The excursions that we took were amazing, especially the "Flavors of Sorrento and Pompeii with our guide Elisa, and Pisa and Florence on your own with our outstanding guide Luca Misuri. Those two More were our favorites, but Rome and the Vatican, and Palma was also a great excursion.

The downsides were few, but worth mentioning. There is no Promenade area where you can walk around and watch the water. The casino allowed smoking and was located amidships, although they had purifiers, it still had a bad smell while walking on that deck. There were too many children at the white hot party, we left, it was not enjoyable due to the kids there.

The inside cabin was small, but adequate. What the big deal is about the bathrooms?, I don't get. It worked well for us. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

Florence Walking Tour

(5.5)

Glorious town. A must return to. Luca Misuri is a fabulous guide and I can't say enough about his personality and stunning knowledge. The restaurant that he recommended caused me to be able to partake in the greatest Lasagna that I have ever eaten... bar none.

Pisa Walking Tour

Great experience, and a wonderful time around the tower

Avignon Walking Tour

It was ok, but not great. Informative

Pompeii Walking Tour

Great experience with Elisa our guide. The farm visit in Sorrento was great and the Limoncello was amazing. We had a wonderful time even though time was cut short in Pompeii.
