We booked the Oasis to experience the big ship. We do not like crowds.
Boarding was a snap and we got right on the ship.
The architecture and interior design are overwhelming.
The large ship does not give a feeling of intimacy and meeting new friends would have been difficult if not for the Concierge Club open to Diamond+ and suites.
We booked the suite for the suite benefits (VIP seating at reserved shows, priorities and the lounge). See above for not liking crowds and waiting. My impression was that waiting was not an issue and there were plenty of seats for all activities save the Comedy show.
We expected moderately good food and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was in the main dining room. We ate at Chops one night and were disappointed. The service and presentation were excellent, but the meal did not impress; except for dessert.
A hidden gem is the Solarium dining facility for breakfast and lunch. It had a good selection and prepared with healthy products. At dinner it turns into a specialty restaurant which was an excellent dining experience.
Our suite decoration looked worn and drab. We had a musty odor that was noticeable when we arrived. We reported to the cabin attendant who did a special cleaning which did not help. They next tried cleaning the bathroom drains. This, also did not work. The third attempt was a shampoo of carpet and furniture. The smell remained. The deck supervisor compensated us for the inconvenience. Which was a nice gesture. I can't imagine the previous occupants did not report the smell as it was quite pronounced upon entry. This is a situation that should not have happened.
