Fantastic ship and wonderful experience on Norwegian Breakaway...

Sail Date: September 2013
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

Fantastic ship and wonderful cruise on Norwegian Breakaway...made even better by the best crew(s) in the industry. But, 1st a little about us - we just completed our 25th cruise, 14th with NCL and 11th in a row with them and 3 more booked. We wouldn't keep coming back if we didn't like NCL's brand of hospitality. We've been to 6 of the 7 continents (missing only the antarctic)and over 50 different countries and territories. Seasoned travelers.

Flew into NYC 2 days before the cruise - stayed in a Doubletree in the financial district - a really nice hotel, and we saved $300 to $400 over mid-town hotels. Took a cab to Pier 88 at 10:30 - special Haven checkin was painless and we were having lunch in the private resturant by 11:30. Staterooms ready after lunch - leaving time to explore before the life boat drill.

In our opinion, Norwegian is setting a very high bar for features, amenities and options for people of all ages. The ropes course was really amazing, though not More our cup of tea - people of all ages in line to try it out. And, a special separate venue for "little" tykes.

The Waterfront is really a great idea - inside / outside seating - and always comfortable tables and chairs available. Super place for dinner and a glass of wine. NYC hotdog carts on boths sides of the waterfront is a nice touch.

We had dinner in La Cucina - always excellent food and service - Le Bistro which has a new "sidewalk" section making it very French. As ususal, the food and service were top drawer - especially since our waitress was Roshelle - a friend from previous cruises. Cirque show and dinner in the Spiegel tent were great - the dinner was shrimp and filet - served just perfectly. Also, Dominika, the Spiegel hostess is a very special frond from the Epic. O'Sheehan's good comfort foods as usual.

Most other meals were in the Haven. Everyone there tried their best to spoil us and it worked. Great service and laugh out loud fun. Just a few of the people include Bhisham, Akim, Margretio,Jelyrose, Peppy and many more. In fact, we were warmly greeted by every member we met fact to face - and got reaquainted with 15 - 20 members of the crew we'd met of previous cruises with NCL and we made friends with many more crew member new to us. Ryan, our concerige took excellent care of us.

Missed a day in Bermuda because of the weather - so, didn't get to do and see all we wanted. A great excuse to go back on the Breakaway - which is in the works.

The passageways are a tad narrow but you're only there for a few seconds at a time. Like wise the balconys - but you don't sleep there. Pleny of room to watch the ocean go by and have a glass of wine.

I'm sure I've missed some things - but we're hooked on Norwegian for a lot of reasons - but primarily because the crew always make us feel very special. We'll be back soon - and in the Haven. Less
