Imperial Jewels of China with Viking River Cruises
In April my husband and I did our first river cruise in China with Viking. It was a fabulous experience with virtually seamless transitions from city to city with a lovely 5 night river cruise on the Yangtze. It couldn't have been easier to see the highlights of Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and a beautiful and interesting part of the Yangtze from Chongqing to Wuhan.
From the moment we were met at the airport in Beijing until we checked in at Shanghai for our flight home, Viking made our trip memorable, comfortable, informative and smooth. Our luggage was routinely picked up from our room and miraculously transported to our destination by Viking. We did not have to stand on line to check-in at the airports or handle our luggage during our stay in China.
The hotels were all exceptional, the food very good to outstanding, the itinerary fabulous. All of the highlights on our bucket list were included with sufficient time to enjoy each site. We had plenty of time to walk on More the Great Wall, visit the major sites in Beijing, explore the Shanghai waterfront and were able to visit the Terra Cotta Warrior museum before it opened for the day allowing us great photos and a great view of the warriors at each exhibit.
During our trip we celebrated our anniversary and our escort sent champagne, flowers and chocolate covered strawberries to our room. We were surprised and delighted by this extra personal touch. We were so impressed with the trip that we booked another Viking River Cruise right after arriving back home.
I would highly recommend the Imperial Jewels of China to anyone who wants a well-planned, guided tour of China's highlights in a limited amount of time with a lovely 5 night river cruise on the Yangtze. Less
