This cruise line and ship was nothing more than an overwhelming disappointment (Bahamas Celebration). The ship is aesthetically ugly first off, the first impression is of a worn tired ship laden with rust and globs of paint layers. I knew we were in for it when I saw that. Entering the ship was an unmistakeable stench of wet dirty carpet, like you would expect in a Motel 6, if you're brave enough to stay in one. Our cabin was on the 6th deck, interior. The room was small and outdated. NOT A SINGLE wall outlet to charge anything, this old European ship has only 220v outlets. The thermostat was in Celsius, yet had two true settings (cold and off). The "king" bed was two prison mattresses pushed together, so thin sitting on it I'm touching the bottom of the bed (6' and 185lbs). The room smelled old and a little bit like untreated armpit, yet appeared clean. There was a small 13" or so flat screen tv in the room with 5-6 channels (not uncommon on a cruise ship), which was fine. The bathroom was substandard to even an old Carnival ship's head. The shower was about the water pressure of a drinking fountain. The shower alternated from cold to scalding the entire time. The toilet looked like a bear chewed on it and had an unknown brown stain that stayed there all weekend.
The food was like a high school cafeteria's. Bland, cheap, and lacking of selection describes the dining. Breakfast includes watery eggs in a buffet line, no served breakfast. The pool was more like an above ground drunk person aquarium, very small. The drinks aboard were not bad, standard local bar mixing and fairly priced for a ship. I don't gamble, but the casino was nice and actually not smokey at all, pleasant surprise.
The ship is very small, so there is not much for exploration or options. Room service includes a veggie burrito or a ham and cheese sandwich, seriously, that's all they consider complimentary and 24/7. Outside of the cafeteria-food dining rooms you can get Costco style mini-pizzas and pasta late night in their Italian buffet, the minestrone soup is amazing. Oh the elevators, there's far to little of them and they run very slow. We took the stairs all weekend and beat the elevator every time even over numerous floors.
