Ship Facts: MSC Opera Review (by Cruise Critic!) | MSC Opera Deck Plans
Phew!

We needn't have worried :o)

Whilst we felt that information on procedures on how and where to park/check in and regarding on board packages etc were not very forthcoming all became clear on arrival at Southampton. Every thing was super fast, super efficient and straight forward. What a relief!

The ship was beautiful and immaculate on embarkation and throughout the whole holiday, the staff never stop!

We had an inside cabin which was bigger than expected and the only reason we would upgrade next time is due to the fact that after having long days and late nights having fun it was a struggle to get up in the mornings especially without any natural daylight to encourage us! Our room was excellently looked after with our cabin attendant even positioning our sons teddy bears differently every night which our son looked forward to coming back to find after a busy day.

The buffet restaurant was a good standard but we chose to use the waitered restaurant as the food and service were exceptional. We had the first sitting at 6.15. Our Waiters Jose Cruz and Luis Roberto Matute were wonderful with us and our boys, always attentive, happy and helpful beyond belief. They are a credit to MSC.

The Theatre shows were mixed; some not so good, some good and some very good so everyone's tastes should be covered.

Our boys used the kids clubs intermittently and both had a great time and were treated well with gifts and prizes galore.

We didn't get off at all the ports as we had gorgeous weather and were happy to spend time around the pool, crazy golf etc. But we did our own thing when we did disembark at ports as their excursions were expensive for a family of 4.

All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and above all EXTREMELY hard working. The service is excellent and the ship spotless (even the pool was emptied everynight and scrubbed by hand!!!)

All in all, as I say after worrying about lots of negative reviews on here we were extremely pleasantly surprised. It isn't a huge ship with hundreds of different things going on but we loved it, we met lots of lovely fellow cruisers and service always felt personal.

A good time had by all and we will definitely book again :o)
