This was my 8th Carnival Cruise and it was overall, great! The embarkation proccess was a bit delayed but once on the ship, we were up on the lido deck by 11:30 eating. The burgers were excellent and the Tandori was the best. The pizza is now thin crusted and was not good. They had one guy serving and he was very slow. The Dining room food was probably the best we had. The prime rib (served twice) was excellent as were all the soups we tried and of course the Lobster Tail and Chateaubriand was perfect. The crusie Director Malcom was excellent! He was very down to earth but professional at the same time.
Puerto Rico was beautiful and we especially loved the cobblestoned streets and the Spanish architecture. At St. Thomas, we took a taxi to Secret Harbor Beach($10 a person for taxi ride). This was a gorgeous beach with excellent snorkeling. Bring your snorkeing gear! It was also very quiet with very few beach goers. Grand Turk was ok, very crowded since it is a small beach. The shows were the best on this ship and there was live entertainment everywhere we looked.
The only negative were the large numbers ok kids and they were very noisy at times congregating on the 5th deck by the Sushi bar/pastry shop. They monopolized the tables and chairs there. One last thing, the ship was a bit gaudy looking and probably the worst designed of all the Carnival Ships but it had the best and largest SPA out of all of them! You must try the Cloud 9 Spa with the Thallosotherapy pool. There is a charge for it but it is well worth it. The various treatment/ sauna rooms were amazing. I can't wait to book my next Carnival Cruise!
Our cabin was 1079 on the Panaroma deck 10. It was a standard balcony and nice but we did hear some noise above at 6 AM every morning as they were setting up deck chairs. The noise lasted for about half an hour.
