Carnival Triumph-it's time to party

Most people who take this cruise make this a 5-day party experience. Sitting midship at poolside, you better like loud rock music because during the day that's about all you hear. The alcohol flows like water. The floor show is watching passengers who had a few too many. I am a senior who enjoys the music and the show.

Pros and cons about the ship.

Embarkation was fast and good. The lido buffet was ok. Average. The dining room food was often very good, especially lobster, filet mignon, shrimp, escargot and wonderful baby back ribs. Many other entrees were very average. Soups were especially good. Service in the dining room was especially good in Paris.

Even our balcony had no refrigerator. An ice bucket is placed in the stateroom. No cabin steward comes back until evening. You want ice, if your lucky you get through to room service. What they call guest services, you can hold up to one half hour or more on the phone. Pore. The worst I have seen in 27 cruises.

The Captain talks to you on the PA system. He doesn't even appear at the party for gold and platinum members. Perhaps he is not a party person. If your a beach person, Progresso and Cozumel are great. Otherwise, consider a Mayan ruin tour or go to Merida. It is only 35 miles away, a wonderful old colonial city. The ship was clean and well maintained. The entertainment was varied and good in the lounges. Disembarkation was fast and went well. If your young or young at heart, you will have a great time for the money. Those looking for a great cruise experience need to look elsewhere.
