We had sailed RC in the past, and have received superb service in the MDR on their ships. We were expecting on the Solstice, at the very least, the same level of service as we had received from RC. We were in Aqua Class (A1), and found the Solstice to be very well appointed and absolutely gorgeous. The Aqua Class rooms were also very well appointed and quite spacious. The first night in the MDR our waiter and ass't. waiter were acceptable. Not great, just acceptable. The sommelier stayed almost invisible and we had to complain for him to pour a second glass of wine. The first formal night was completely subpar. It took a very long time for our order to be taken, and we had yet to place our wine order. We had to request several times for the sommelier to come to our table. Ass't waiter was not allowed to serve us wine.

Side note: On RC, we were absolutely treated like royalty in the MDR's. Ass't. waitstaff were extremely attentive to our every need and want.

We ate breakfast in BLU most mornings, and the service as well as the food in there was very nice. Ate supper in BLU once and the service was very slow (1/2 hour between courses)and our food came out cold.
