Sail Date: Aug 2013

Started 7 day cruise out of Vancouver. Landed at first port Ketchican. Upon leaving that evening felt a jolt like an earthquake. 2 hours later it was announced ship lost an engine and would return to port. Every 8 hours got an update that mechanics were working on problem and ship expected to leave next day. The 3rd day after being in same port, celebrity announced they would be ending cruise and flying people to anchorage or Seattle and that passengers should make their air changes out of those cities. Then it was changed 4 hours later that they would not fly to anchorage. Info was constantly changing.

At start of cruise, captain and officers were available for captains toast and introductions,. When problems arose no official would show themselves. What is so disturbing is that ship had exact problem the week before but we were never informed. the week before millennium was stuck at first port, seward, for 4 days then cruised to last port, Vancouver with no stops. In short we are out airfare, vacation time and spent 2 days in long lines in ship trying to get info. Cruise will refund our money and give partial credit toward another cruise. I feel really bad for the French and Australian tourists I met who paid $1900 in airfare to take this cruise. In addition we are out any post cruise expenses we had incurred for our stay in Anchorage. The only saving grace was the entertainment comedian... Though he had the ship breakdown the week before to use for his material.

Last day consisted of a 6:30am embarkation arriving home in San Fran at midnight!
