We thought the Magic was a Nice ship. Clean and well appointed.
Where we ran into problems was the LACK of Authority and/or supervision taken by the Ships Staff & Crew.
This is a Family Cruise Ship, and we have a 6-year old of our own, so we knew going in, that this ship would be full of children.
There is very little supervision / support staff on this ship that ensures passengers are following rules.
We went to use the 9-hole miniature golf course as a family during our first day at sea. There were at least 120 kids (ages 5 to 14) running around swinging putters throwing golf balls, pushing/shoving each other, yelling, screaming. Seriously it was a nightmare. Not a single Carnival Staff/Crew Member was doing anything about it. It was this way in the sports square almost the entire cruise.
Oh and they have a wonderful Ropes Course that is only open about 5% of the time. It only opened for 3 hours when the ship was parked in port. They said it cannot be opened more than that because of wind. a very very small percentage of guests will actually get to use the ropes course.
-workout facility/gym is very small for such a large ship. Had to wait 20 minutes each day to get on and elliptical or treadmill.
Main Dining facility - food - very average
buffet and other food was good, but nothing great.
Of course drinks are ridiculous, but that's the same on every cruise. $6.00 beers.
Overall, nice cruise ship, but way too crowded with kids. (and again we have a 6 year old)
30 minutes on the beach, barely enough time to put the towel down.
