This was our first cruise with RC, Mum 58 and Son 27, though we had been on Celebrity and Cunard before. We flew from Gatwick with Easyjet and booked a car both ways through easyjet's site with ATS. We were supposed to have a car for the two of us, as were two other couples but we all travelled to the ship together in a 58 seater coach.

We were a little peeved with this, but driver offered no explanation, not sure he had enough English and we had no Italian! However it got us to the port and dropped us outside the luggage deposit building. Talking to other people later who travelled from taxi we found that we had had the best deal. The Venice marathon was on, we passed the competitors on our way. All taxis had to drop passengers in Pizza Roma and they then had to walk to port pulling/carrying luggage. Only coaches were allowed to go all the way in to the port. So obviously that was the reason for putting us together and in a coach. Returning home all 3 couple got our own taxi to the airport.

Check in at Venice is a little time consuming as you have to drop luggage at one building, then walk to another building for check in. However when we found the RC check in point we went straight to a desk and were dealt with quickly. You then have to leave the building walk to the corner and queue for a bus which then takes you to the ship. This is to do with the port not RC.
