Ship Facts: Carnival Inspiration Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Inspiration Deck Plans
Final Carnival Cruise
We took this short cruise to escape renovation dust and noise in our house, we have taken this cruise several times before and we were dismayed to find that this cruise has deteriorated from being a relaxed introduction to the joys of cruising into a three night booze-fest complete with hordes of drunken yahoos rampaging throughout the ship unchecked by an uncaring crew. Carnivals business model for this cruise seems to be "Get them on board, get them drunk, get their money". My wife and I have sailed many times with Carnival, she has reached platinum level and I am at the gold level, this was our last Carnival cruise.

Some comments:

There is constant pressure to buy alcohol on the ship.

Ensenada is much cleaner and more pleasant than before.

The entertainment was good, the comedy club shows were excellent, the main theatre shows were average.

Dinner each night was disrupted by two adjacent tables of drunks who thought it was oh so funny to constantly scream and yell to each other, again, unchecked by un uncaring crew.

Both the room steward and waiters made absolutely no attempt to interact with the guests, we didnt even see the room steward until the third day. We enjoy meeting and talking with the staff, this aspect of cruising was sadly lacking.

Inspiration is looking very tired and run-down, although clean, the decor is hopelessly out of date and all the furniture is extremely worn and faded. Now that Princess is starting to do the exact same cruises out of Los Angeles, we wonder if Carnival is planning to withdraw Inpiration and focus on the Princess cruises.

Some of the cruise staff seemed clueless about what they were doing, the cruise director, Willie, was very good and on the third night it was announced that this was his final night abourd as he was going to Carnival Spirit the next day. No wonder he seemed very happy!!

We wondered is Inspiration has become either a) atraining ship for new staff or b) a punishment ship. Given the lack of knowledge and bad attitude of some of the staff it was probably both a) and b).

This is not a cheap cruise, it has a high daily rate of around $150.

If you love the joys of cruising avoid this cruise like the plague.

If you love drinking till you fall over, this ones for you!

Never again, now.....what was that phone number for NCL????
