This review covers the 10/14 sailing of the Caribbean Princess from Fort Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale two days prior to sailing and had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Express on 17th. The hotel was very clean and the shuttle service from the airport was excellent. We used the first day to explore the area. There are restaurants of every kind within easy walking distance of the hotel. The second day we paid $10 each for the Water Taxi. We had a great time getting on and off at the various stops. We walked through Los Olas and enjoyed the experience. We went back at night and just rode the entire route, enjoying the Lauderdale night scene.

Embarkation: Let us say this was our 28th cruise so we are familiar with embarkation procedures. We decided to leave for the ship at about 10:30. We had read about the long lines outside the terminal but figured we would stand in line and meet new friends. By the way, we took the shuttle from the HI for $6 each. Surprise ! We got off the shuttle, checked our bags and entered the terminal, received #1 as a Platinum member and sat in air conditioned comfort drinking juice and coffee until our number was called about 11:45. Boarding pictures were taken and the rooms were ready. We dropped our bags in the stateroom and headed for the buffet. Our cruise had begun.
