We decided to take this last minute cruise out of our home port. Overall, it was a relaxing cruise, and we had a good time.
Food: We felt that the food was average. It wasn't as good as other cruises that we have taken. One hint: For breakfast on the first few days, head to the omelet station in the very back of the ship. No-one will know about it until a few days later. Also, the sushi bar across from the casino gives out free appetizers. We did not know they were free until the last day.
Service: The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and more than willing to tend to our needs.
Entertainment: This was by far the worst part of the cruise. We liked the juggling comedian and a couple of the other comedians, but we were very disappointed in the shows. The singers weren't very good. We heard better singers in the hallways.
Ports of call:
Half Moon Cay: We loved the private island, Half Moon Cay. The water was gorgeous. It was a very relaxing island with beautiful views. We took the jet ski tour, which was a lot of fun. However, if you want to save money, this is a great place just to relax and hang out on the beach.
Grand Turk: I usually don't book tours through the cruise line; however, because we booked last minute, I decided to take the Ultimate Snorkel through Carnival. It was an average tour. We saw some fish, but not an overabundance. Once again, if you want to save money, you can just walk over to the big pool at Margaritaville.
Nassau: We didn't book a tour here. We just walked to the Queen's staircase and the fort and did a little shopping.
We would probably take this cruise again simply because it is convenient to leave from our home port and because the price was right.
