Anniversary Celebration aboard the Jewel of the Seas
For our 35th anniversary, we wanted to celebrate in style - and the Jewel of the Seas was the perfect venue. Our ocean view stateroom was clean and comfortable, the Jewel was sparkling, and the staff was outstanding.
This was our first cruise and Royal Caribbean was first-rate all the way. We selected My Time dining, which provided some flexibility in choosing a dinner time in the Tides dining room. The wait staff was superb, learning our names and beverage preferences the first day. Upon learning it was our anniversary, they brought us a special dessert and serenaded us at our table.
Besides the main dining room, there was a buffet-style dining area, the Windjammer, where you could choose from an array of hot and cold dishes - not to mention a dessert table. Staff there learned our names as well, and set aside our favorite table whenever they saw us enter the room.
From the greeter at the door of the Windjammer to our room attendant, the staff was friendly, More welcoming and professional.
We booked shore excursions and enjoyed them all. Our favorite was the sunset catamaran cruise in Aruba - very relaxing and fun.
We would highly recommend Royal Caribbean and the Jewel of the Seas, whether you are looking to relax by the pool, play trivia games or dance the night away. Less

Port and Shore Excursions
The sunset catamaran cruise was very relaxing and such a delightful way to view the shore! We enjoyed the music and dancing as well. Wonderful!
We viewed a number of fish species and coral from the comfort of the semi-sub. Enjoyed this tour very much.
We visited the Fairview Greathouse Plantation, with its lovely landscaping and rum-tasting! The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Our shore excursion was canceled, so we explored the dockside area on our own. We joined a bus tour of the island, which took us from Magen's Bay to the Mountain Top store, with plenty of time to shop for souvenirs. Very beautiful island and we enjoyed our visit.
