Ship Facts: Carnival Spirit Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Spirit Deck Plans
First Timers

Took our very first cruise ever in July 2013 aboard the Carnival Spirit. A party of 6...getting onboard was a breeze and was greeted by many friendly staff who guided us to our cabin...cabin was fine and I was glad to be in the middle of the ship at the lowest level ...

The ship was very opulent with its decorations and the glass lifts really impressed

Staff could not be faulted apart from one really awful nasty desk dinner hostess who actually got into an altercation with us ....waiters and waitresses-could not do enough. ...The same for cabin staff...food excellent in the empire room ...Lido deck Buffett was excellent too and if u didn't find something u liked there then there's something wrong with you...the deli was fabulous ( try the corned beef and pastrami on rye...to die for)

Serenity lounge would have been lovely if u could have gotten a seat ....I think some people actually slept out there to ensure a seat or a table ....

Found there was lots to do but became quite repetitive after a while and no offence but bean bag toss or football passing isn't my thing....perhaps a few less family orientated things to do especially on sea days...

Now my biggest gripe...night time entertainment !! It was WOE FULL.....the guy from the piano bar Andy desperately trying to keep people amused and playing the most god awful slow whiny songs I have ever heard elevator music is more easy listening....he killed many songs by playing them "his way" sorry Andy but liven up!! The same can be said actually for the other singers ....especially the Asian duo in the atrium bar...she was the most unenthusiastic singer i have ever seen.....it didn't really matter what bar you went into was as tho they dished out the same mournful go to sleep stuff...shocking!!

Bar prices very steep....

But on having said this we all really enjoyed our cruise and would do so again.......maybe not on such a family orientated ship
