Falling Star for sure
Destination: Baltic Sea
We first cruised with NCL in 2005 and loved every moment of it from the freestyle dining to the wonderful shows. So this was our 4th cruise and maybe our expectations were too high after a good experience on the Epic last summer, but as I think back about it there was just no explanation for this experience....from the filthy cabin to the rude front desk staff. Our problems started immediately with a filthy room and a safe that was unusable.
Food was okay- have always thought it is hard to feed this many people- but this time there were just the same old foods over and over and over. Do not understand why it is so hard to change out the veggies.
Finally the sanitation- we seemed to be the only ones willing to "washy, washy." It was like the staff was afraid to address this issue. No one greeting us as we entered the dining areas and lots of empty dispensers around the ship.
Our one really positive experience was with our shore excursions. Our day in Berlin More was magnificent because of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide we have ever experienced anywhere. Was very disappointed that we were given no opportunity to share this with NCL.
We think the Star needs to be retired and its staff needs a refresher course in NCL customer expectations.
Loved all the Baltic cruise ports but would recommend another cruise line. Less

It rained hard all morning but guide was very upbeat and knowledgeable. Hydrofoil ride had to be cancelled due to weather but all in all it was a good tour.
