My husband and I along with our 2 teenage sons flew from East Midlands airport to Corfu. All went smoothly. Taken to ship quickly, no waiting, all well organised. Shown to our cabins then straight to life jacket drill. We arrived on the ship an hour before it set sail. Would have liked to have been there earlier as it was a bit rushed on arrival on the ship but couldn't get earlier flights. Having said that the security guy was very quick then we were free to do what we wanted. We booked 2 outside plus cabins which were spacious and comfy. The en suite is small but had a very good shower and was spotlessly clean as well as the cabin.
The whole ship was immaculate, constantly cleaned and polished and hoovered. The cabin crew were extremely good and helpful, as was 99% of all the staff. The food was superb, with lots of choice. We ate in the Four Seasons restaurant most nights and had great service from Del Boy & JR!! The ship has plenty of places to sit and relax, with numerous bars. I never felt packed in or forced to participate in entertainments I didn't want to. We went on lots of the Thomson trips and found them to be well organised and worth the money if you weren't prepared to venture far on your own. Although seasoned cruisers will know that they can often get better deals on their own.
My only criticism of the ship is that the pool deck is crowded when the ship is at sea, and a little run down. Feature showers around the deck would cut down on the amount of people wanting to cool off. I would certainly cruise with Thomson again and would have no hesitation recommending the Majesty.
Other trips we did which are not on the options below were Trapani - Erice- very scenic with lovely views and Messina - Mount Etna - great views and worth a visit. All of the trips would be more comfortable when it is cooler so if not trapped into taking your holidays during school holidays then I would certainly think about going out of season.
We stayed in Corfu for a week after the cruise and found Corfu town to be a real surprise. Full of quaint little alleys brimming with history and very pretty. Would certainly recommend a visit.
Took an open top bus around the north east of the island and visited the War Museum in Valletta. You don't need a trip for Malta. You can easily do it yourself. You just walk of the ship onto a bus!!
Worth visiting but a strenuous climb. Does not suit less abled. Again, very busy - would be better out of season.
Excellent guide. Very interesting. Lots of walking so not good for less abled. Definitely worth a visit. Would have liked more time to wander around but on a tight timescale.
So hot and busy the trip was slightly spoiled unfortunately. Also the tour guide's English was not very clear so much of her talks were lost. Would go back when cooler and less busy. That wasn't Thomson's fault though!! Can't blame them for the hot weather!!
