Impressive Experience with DCL Dream
Very Good to Excellent. Nearly every crewmember that we interacted with was friendly, helpful, had a good attitude and was genuinely interested in making sure that our experience was pleasant and met or exceeded our expectations.
Our experience with the onboard food ranged from 'Just OK' for the quick service food (pizza, etc) on deck 11, which was largely oriented towards kids... to A++ excellent for our two visits to Palo, one of the premium restaurants onboard.
Very good to excellent. DCL did a great job making sure that there was something for everyone during most all phases of the cruise. DCL does an excellent job of leveraging onboard talent (chefs and bartenders) to conduct classes on cooking and mixology. Ultra modern movie theater(s) and excellent live shows.
ON SHORE ACTIVITES:
We had two ports of call on this cruise-
Nassau, which is a good destination, but More didn't personally appeal to us. We opted to tay on the boat this day and enjoy the smaller onboard crowds.
Castaway Cay. Also a great destination, but because of the time of year we chose to cruise (mid August) it was face of the sun hot with little breeze and uber high humidity. We did the glass bottom boat ride and a little shopping and decided that we had enjoyed everything we wanted to. Went back to the boat before 11:30 am. We had a great time back onboard as the boat was nearly empty. We feel that if we had chosen to go at a different time of year, we would have enjoyed our time on Castaway Cay much more. There is a lot to do there, and it is very well done. Just too hot for our preference.
Most excellent. VERY clean. Well thought out floor plan and utilization of available space. Cabin attendant was superb.
DCL nailed it with the Oceaneer club/lab and other activities for kids. Our daughter consistently asked to go back for more.
WHAT DISAPPOINTED US?:
Almost nothing. The only exception was the lack of a store in the shopping area (or anywhere on the boat as far as we could tell) that sold 'sundries'. Sometimes you just want a bag of peanuts, or a flavored water or a candy bar. There seemed to be nowhere on this boat that offered these kinds of products in a single place.
WHAT WILL WE DO DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME?:
1) Our stateroom had a small/medium sized refrigerator. We will bring our own snacks and misc. sundries next time. I believe that you're allowed to bring a cooler onboard with DCL.
2) Our stateroom was great and close to the elevator lobby on our deck. However, we were just below deck 11, which sometimes sounded like they were building another ship directly above us. It was not a major problem, though. Kids running up and down stairs could be heard until about 11pm most nights. We'll book a lower deck and further away from elevator/stair lobby in the future.
3) Eat at premium restaurants more. Palo was magnificent, and for 20$ more per person per meal you can eat some of the best food Disney has to offer. If our budget allows next time, we'll probably book supper there most every night. Pay a little more, and get WAY more in overall quality and choices.
The value of this cruise was superb. We look forward to coming back for more very soon. Less

Cabin review: Disney Dream Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah Deck 9 10060
VERY convenient to elevator lobby on deck 10, but noisy during high traffic times of the day. Not from elevator lobby so much, but from the activities on the deck above and kids running up and down staircase.
Royal Caribbean Has Lost Its' ...
Lovely ship but evenings dull,...
You can do better, Princess
