We sailed from Southampton on 20th July travelling as a family group of 3 which included my 18 year old son. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7 which met all our needs although I might have liked a bit more storage at my level. I particularly like the bathroom on this ship. The ship is really beautiful and staff generally attentive and very pleasant.
We ate mainly in Moonlight Sonata and the Ocean View Cafe using the flexible dining package. Food was very good and we saw no need to use speciality dining restaurants. We were given a table in the same area each evening and therefore had the same waiting team which worked very well. We particularly liked the giant chocolate fountains on brunch day although we only knew about this because our waiter mentioned it the night before.
Entertainment around the ship is generally good and we enjoyed the range of activities on offer- particularly the quizzes , countdown etc. the entertainment staff were great , probably the best we've had. We also liked the cruise director Ian Cresswell and can't understand some of the negative comments on these boards. He seemed a very genuine and amusing person and we felt he got the balance just right. We attended all the shows , except for the late night comedy, and felt the standard was high. We particularly liked the Guest acts. The 3 Celebrity shows were fine but not particularly our style. The female singers seem to over dramatise everything they touch which spoilt it for us.
7196. Close to the front lift shaft which meant some noise from people returning to their cabins late a night. Crew door directly opposite not a problem.
