Sail Date: August 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We had no trouble embarking. They have a great system and the lines went fast. Our Room was ready by 1:30. We came with 2 of our grown daughters and their families. We had two balcony rooms and the balcony doors opened so we could share the balcony. One daughter had an ocean view room and the other one's husband shared an interior room with some of his kids. This worked out great. The staff was wonderful, they loved the kids and was very nice and respectful to everyone. They saw to all of your needs.

The dining room was wonderful, the staff great. Food could be found on the Lido deck at all times. Drinks were offered everywhere. The kids always had something to do. The Club for the teenagers was really great. We had a 16, and 2, 15 year olds with us and they had a blast meeting other kids their ages in the club. They looked forward to it. Had clubs for the smaller kids but my 6 year old granddaughter and 11 year old grandson did not want to go, however going passed the clubs More looks like they were having fun. Ports of call were fun. We did not have to spend allot of money to have fun.

The best port is Half Moon Cay. It was beautiful. The sand white, the water was warm. Beach chairs, were free and water masks and snorkels were available to rent. We did a shore trip to swim with the stingrays there, we did like it, we would have just liked to stay on the beach all day. Day at sea was fun. So much to do all day on the ship. You could relax or take part in many of the fun things that was just waiting for you. Debarking was fast and easy. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Ecstasy Balcony Empress

Our room was on the main floor. We had a balcony room, with a king size bed. The room was excellent, nice to sit out and watch the ocean, sky, and the stars. We were not to far from the elevators and stairs. The bed was comfy and had plenty of pillows.

Port and Shore Excursions

This is where the ship was waiting for us. It was easy to get to, had plenty of porters to take your luggage. We got in line to embark and water and lemonade was on tables if you would like some. Buses, taxis and cars were everywhere. Parking was available. Had to show boarding pass and your picture I.D. or passport. Then went through security screening and then up to the next deck to get your room key and then on your way to the ship. Very easy.

Snorkeling

(5.5)

These people were great with everyone. They taught you how to snorkel and made sure everyone was ok. This was great for kids or first time snorkelers because you walk from the beach instead of being just dropped from a boat in the ocean. They stayed with the group, we swam to a reef and they brought some food to feed the fish. This was great, we saw hundreds of fish. You got snorkel mask, fins and life belt. There were restrooms available and a snack bar. I am now a fan and love snorkeling.

This was by far the best. Half Moon Cay was like out of a picture. It was beautiful. The water was clear and blue, the beach with white clean sand.
Beach chairs were waiting for us. Snorkel masks and fins were available for rent as were floating tubes and rafts. Lunch was made for us by the crew of the ship and it was just as good as the food on the ship. We were sorry that we had booked a excursion to swim with the stingrays because we did not want to leave the beach. We did have a rain storm while we were eating, and the ship sent someone with dry towels for everyone that turned one in. That was super. The only regret is that we would of like to have more time to spent on that island.
