Just off the Summit, having visited Bermuda the week of August 4th. We traveled to Bayonne on the charter bus from Rhode Island, which couldn't have been easier, and were on the ship and enjoying a meal in Bistro on 5 by 12:15pm. Found the ship to be spotless. The decor might be slightly tired, and there are few "bells and whistles" of the newer ships, but Summit is lovely and timeless. We had a concierge room on the port side of deck 9, which was in very good condition with the exception of some minor cosmetics (torn bed skirt, some peeling or scratched corners on the furniture). Our concierge, Schubert, took excellent care of us and was able to predict our schedule perfectly after the first day and had the room made up seemingly in a flash.

The food was universally excellent, and we are discerning diners! We never once felt the need to do a specialty dinner as the main dining room food was outstanding. Our service team was Tyrone and Zaira, both of whom took wonderful care of us. The layout of the buffet is not ideal, more of a school cafeteria model, which can result in tiresome lines at prime time. We worked around this by having the seated breakfasts and lunching either at the pool grill (great burgers, dogs and fries!) or at off-times.

Our seven-year old son had a ball in the children's program, and we sprung for the $100 VIP Pass for him, which allowed him access to all the paid activities (lunch and dinner parties) as well as special tours of the bridge and backstage in the theater. He also received a great backpack which included a Fun Factory T-shirt, a beach ball, and some other goodies. There was a wide range of activities every day, and the staff seemed to be truly invested in providing the kids with a fun, safe experience.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

Quiet with the exception of occasional bumps from Oceanview Cafe above. Do not recommend port side due to smoking area being on deck 10 directly above. Typical room set-up with double bed and loveseat that made up into a bed. Could not access the desk or balcony once bed was folded down for the evening. Bathroom is adequate, but shower very small with "grabby" shower curtain. Storage was fine for three, including a child.
