From the embarkation to the disembarkation process this was an excellent cruise! Yes, the ship is a bit weathered but it is soon to go into dry dock for some refurbishment (I believe we were told sometime next February). Our room was spotless and for the most part was timely serviced each day. We are Captain's Club members and sailed on the Concierge level which offered some nice amenities! The ship's coffee didn't appeal to us so each day we would go to Michael's Pub for a continental breakfast and get a great cup of cappuccino. It was free to us at Michael's but was about $5 if you ordered it from the gourmet coffee shop.
We had one specialty dinner at Murano's and it was outstanding. My wife had the Dover sole which was prepared table side and I had chateaubriand which was as tender and flavorful as I've ever eaten. The service in Murano's was superb and the atmosphere extremely nice. Meals throughout the ship were generally very good and served at the appropriate temperatures. We both delighted in the soups that came with every meal. We had excellent service in every instance. We opted for select dining which afforded us the opportunity to eat at our own chosen time. Not to miss is the brunch served on the last sea day.....it was quite extensive and delicious.
We had some of the best weather we could have ever hoped for! With the exception of Juneau, where we had some intermittent light rain all the other ports were filled with sunshine and warm temperatures. We did a private excursion for the whale watching and while we did not see any reaching we did see lots of whale tail.
