Ship Facts: Celebrity Century Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Century Deck Plans
Great crew, weather and entertainment!

Our group always has a good time when we get together, and this was our first cruise together. That being said, while we don't have a lot to compare it to, we'd give high marks to the crew overall, especially our stateroom attendants and waiter. Ditto the entertainment, especially the naturalist Milos (informative and funny), the big production numbers (Century Stars group) and Christina Bianco. The upscale restaurant Murano was fantastic, and the main dining room fun and attractive but more uneven in food quality. The buffet area was rather zooey and the dining room service for breakfast or lunch could be rather slow at times. The Martini Bar was ultra cool and the flair bartenders a hoot and fun to watch.

The ship size (smaller than some at about 2,000 passengers onboard)was perfect for us - big enough to have some amenities and choice without being overwhelming in scope or numbers of people. Also, attractive and modern without being over-the-top pretentious. We sprung for the 3hr. behind the scenes tour the last day, which was very interesting and even included a lovely lunch at the Murano with a senior crew member.

The Whale Watching excursion we took in Icy Strait Point was great - clear weather with many up close sightings and a very enthusiastic and informative guide. The "Discover Mendenhall Glacier" excursion we took in Juneau is definitely NOT recommended. It simply amounted to a short bus ride to Visitor's Center of the National Park, complete with cheesy jokes and not much other commentary. We were left for 1 1/2 hours to explore on our own, to be returned by bus. We could easily have found an alternate way to get there for less money, and more time flexibility had we known. Also, we bypassed the seemingly required stops at various jewelry stores and opted to tour the State Capitol building and State Museum in Juneau on our own and both were quite interesting. Our Hubbard Glacier day was beyond expectations, with perfect weather and timing for up close viewing - go crew!

In general, the onboard experience was very satisfactory, but didn't necessarily match up with information we'd been given ahead of time via calls to Celebrity - rather like 2 different worlds, really. The stateroom was well laid out with lots of storage cubbyholes and very comfortable overall. The Spa treatments and Persian Garden were top quality.
