Hit and Miss

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Alaska
Embarkation: Seattle

We sailed with a group, so did not choose this cruise or stateroom. The food overall was pretty good and the specialty dining was very good, with the exception of Izumi. In general, the food was a "hit" for us. So glad to see Starbucks available onboard (extra cost)

Entertainment was hit or miss, some shows were very good like the comedians and aerialists, while the boradway-style performances were not as good. The cruise director and staff were very entertaining and music could be found all over the ship at almost any time of day.

Stateroom was dirty and in need of maintenance. Casino was small and smoky. Other areas of the ship were very nice, clean and well maintained for the most part.

This 7 night Alaska cruise was round trip from Seattle with only two stops in Alaska - Juneau (arriving at 11 am) and Skagway. We also sailed to Dawes Glacier and had a stop in Victoria, B.C. There was very little "Alaskan" about this Alaska cruise in terms of onboard More offerings and even the time spent in Alaska ports, which we thought was a "miss". We also had the worst parking spot at every stop, including Seattle, although embarkation was a breeze.

In all, it wasn't a bad experience, but this would not be the cruise we would choose if we were going to go to Alaska again. Less

Cabin review: Rhapsody of the Seas Interior Stateroom Deck 2 8039

Cabin 8039. Dated and DIRTY. Noise from deck chairs being moved overhead and from the Centrium shows at night.
