My review will be short and sweet... This trip was our 2nd voyage on Freedom. the first was her maiden voyage back in 2007 so we had very very high expectations. Unfortunately 6 years is a long time and the ship to looked old and tired...
Embarkation: VERY slow.. we received an email the day before and told us not to arrive at the terminal until at least 1:30. Well the email went to everyone and at 1:30 about 80% of the ship arrived and mass confusion settled in. it took us about 3 hours to check in and get on-board which most likely was the reason that we left almost 4 hours late
Cabin: Our Balcony was nice.. Our Steward never put Ice In our Ice Bucket, Never vacuumed our carpet or really did a good cleaning job.. Although every day he did great us by our names on the last date he didn't even say goodbye he just said (TAKE CARE) so i put the extra tip i was going to give him away
Dining Room: We had a group of 8 and i had asked for a round table for easy conversation.. I was told by the Matre'd.. Well that isnt going to happen and then never saw her the rest of the trip... As for our wait staff 1 word to describe them the best HORRIBLE! We had to get up to fill our own water glasses, and when the food was delivered it sat on the stand getting cold so just about every plate had to be returned.. I would say that since the Matre'd really didn't have any sense of Professionalism that has stepped down to the staff. Actually my Travel Agent had sent us a bottle of wine and we didn't even get it until day 4 and he said he forgot.. I think our main server's name was Joseph.
Food: Wasn't overly impressed But i need to say that the LIDO Deck Buffet was a nightmare.. Long Lines, Slow Service (because food trays were always empty), And can someone explain why the would close 1/2 of the Buffet during peak times? We went for Burgers and the guy they had working this area just would stand there with this dumb look on his face and the line kept getting longer and longer. He never had back up burgers on the grill.. I don't get it unless this was his first job
Ports/Entertainment: These were very good and had a great time at each
Spa/Gym: Very Very Crowded until i figured out the best times to go i the first couple of times had to wait about 45 minutes for a Treadmill and then about 20 minutes for an Elliptical machine.. Found getting my work out in about 6pm was the best since we had a late dinner this worked out pretty good..
Leaving the ship: OH GEEZ... i guess that is what happens when you hire 300 old retired people from Florida no organization whats so ever!!!!
