Ship Facts: Norwegian Sky Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Sky Deck Plans
Awesome voyage

We took the cruise just weeks ago and I still can't get over with the fun we had while sailing the Norwegian Sky. This is my third cruise and third visit to the Bahamas. It is just beautiful place.

STATEROOM LOCATION : We were at the mid section of the ship at the 10th deck just one level below most of the action and close to the elevator so we can go towards aft or forward and/or down or up the elevator.

ACTIVITIES: There were several activities and partying all day and all night if you can handle it. Our steward always give us " Freestyle Daily" it is list of activities and their time and location where held. You will have fun if you participate on these activities of course. We always stay up late and for several times we attempted to make room in our tummy the highly recommended chicken wings at the "Longboard Bar" but because the 3-course-dinner is always delicious and filling so we always fail to get a bite for midnight snack and/or passed out after the fun day out in the island.

Dinning: We made friends with a lot of the crew so I feel like we get extra VIP treatment :) Our favorite dinning place is "the Crossing". There was one time we did not go to "The Crossing" for dinner and our previous busboy from that restaurant remembered us and ask us to request for them on our next visit. Wayan and Saliman were the best and friendly team at the "Crossing" so we always request for them. The lobster tail and steak dinner is always served special on the first night only on this restaurant, so if you do not want to missed out on that... make that as your first dinner. There is always new featured menu every night.

Breakfast we like the buffet at the "Great Outdoor Cafe" 11th deck just behind the "Garden Cafe" they serve the same variety only it is less crowded and it's outdoor. So before we head out this is our last stop.

Lunch: We like buffet either "great Outdoor Cafe" or "Garden Cafe" since we both like the variety of food served there and faster, although Norwegian is a freestyle dining , eat whenever so you can eat both if you have room for it.

Late Night: The Longboard Bar is really a must try ...they serve great chicken wings, french fries even wanton soup :). we actually did this on our last night and wish we did this more often. Thanks to Jennifer at the Longboard Bar.

EXCURSIONS/Island Hopping: We made sure we have activity on each island but we did not buy all the package online nor did not buy it through NCL.

Freeport: has hardly anything there, just few souvenir stores so we took a taxi for $7 per person we head towards Taino beach. Rent the umbrella for $3 as soon as you get there because it is limited, there were few groups that offered to pay our umbrella after we are done using it but I just let them have it for free since we are done. Here we decided to rent the jetski for $80 for 2 switch riders.

Nassau: Atlantis is a must visit. We had a great time here but not enough time for all the activities in the resort and not very easy to find your way around even with a map. We bought the "aquaventure" right at the resort it is $20 less than NCL, I may add, the front desk does not open until 9 AM. If you decide to buy from NCL, I recommend just get your wrist band and take a taxi for $4 then you do not have to wait for other groups. Aquaventure will give you access to all the pool and beach in Atlantis, I believe if you purchased from NCL you get a meal voucher.I like to also get out of Atlantis just follow the trail towards the public beach and you will also see several vendors and find more rentals that are cheaper then NCL. We decided to ride the "banana boat" and wow fun!

Great Stirrup Cay: BBQ party at the island. Since we wanted to have something to do in each stop, we made arrangement for a parasail ride through NCL for $79 per person. We got out of the ship through tender boats. It leaves every 15 min on and off the island. We've always wanted to try to parasail, so since we have nothing set for that day that was perfect activity to keep us occupied for awhile. There was nothing much in the island, hardly any shades so be out of the ship as soon as you can so you can pick a shady area, although I moved the beach lounge chairs to shady area no one seems to bother. I participated on most of the parlor games and my girlfriend like the line dancing. If you like to keep bench seat polished, there is great food!

The advantage of buying excursion package outside NCL is not just because it is cheaper, it is also better because it is not in big group. You do not have to wait.

GRATUITIES: Cruise is a no cash payments and they already charge $12 per person per day for gratuities but every time we go to seated dinning we still slipped $5 each for the busboy and waiter and $50 to our room steward for keeping our room neat and the fun and cute towel folds every night after dinner or party as we go back to our room and well made and ready, really brings smile to our already wonderful day and nice to call it a goodnight.

Special Thanks: There are several people to thank to for great and friendly service but only few I remembered. Thank You Richard our room steward for keeping our room neat and ready each day and night, Jennifer at Longboard bar for the tips and suggestions, Wayan the waiter and Saliman the busboy at "the crossing" for great dinning experience and yummy dessert thank you all for making our trip perfect!
