Ship Facts: Carnival Pride Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Pride Deck Plans
Better then advertised

The pride is no doubt a under rated ship. I have been on 3 cruises now all with carnival and the pride is just as good if not better then any other carnival ship. It is old, but it is a lot of fun and a great time!

pot of Baltimore: in the northeast it is hard to find a good cruise that you don't need to travel down to flordia for. We looked at other ports but all were much more expensive. Port of Baltimore was easy to get to (right off of 95 after tunnel)and was the quickest port ever. Once you drive up to the parking lot they take the bags out of your car and you park to go start checking in. within 1 hour 15 min we went through all of the security, checked in, went to our room (where the luggage was already placed outside of our door), and eating on the lido deck(deck 9). coming off the ship we carried are own luggage which a lot of people did. they said are deck would be off by 9:25. We were on the road by 9:15. The port of Baltimore is awesome and efficient.

stateroom: we chose a balcony for the first time and it is awesome. big room, beds weren't bad, tons of closet space, bathroom is small but its a cruise ship. We got 2 balcony rooms with the other people we went with and our rooms were next to each other but not connecting. So we asked the guy who cleaned are room if he can do anything and he opened the door between are balcony. It was AMAZING. the balcony was huge, and we can walk from room to room without going in the hallway. highly recommend it, but you have to do it ASAP as they only let 50 guests open the doors.

entertainment: the entertainment of the ship was very good thanks to the comedy club. they have R rated shows after 9:45 and they were awesome! very ditry at times but all 4 of the comedians were hilarious. they all had different shows every night and it was very fun. the theater was only for the people who really like Broadway and acting. the actors weren't anything special and they had the two people sing for every song. got really old real fast.

Bars: all the bars were a very fun time. they have a sports bar that you can catch up with your sports which was really good. they had a piano bar with one of the best you will find on a cruise. The performer has a amazing voice and is must see! the serenity pool is good during the day as well.

pools: the pools were kind of small but still good. there are 2 pools open to anyone then one in the adults only serenity lounge. they are backed most of the time especially during the day. Hot tubs are also very crowded too. to get chairs in the adults only lounge you need to get there by 8. its is very very nice there but gets very crowded very fast. outside of the adults pool you can get a chair basically any time they have a ton of chairs on both levels.

teen entertainment: I had 2 of my 17 year old sons go and they both had a good time. they said the O2 teen club was corny so they didn't go. there was ping pong tables they spent a lot of time at and they were at the basketball court a lot even though it basketball court wasn't great. the net around it and very small and very low you cant shoot the ball. they soon found out the age for the casino was 18 so they spent time in there too. a lot of the stuff on the ship was 18 and older but if you looked anything like 18 no one bothered you.

casino: very fun casino the slots were fun the dealers at the table were very nice and patient. a lot of people came up to the tables not knowing a lot about the game and the dealer kindly explained the rules. very nice people and a lot of fun. just don't bet a lot met a few people who were far from making money for the trip.

food: lido deck 9 the food was awesome! they had a deli station, Caribbean station, carving station, Chinese station, and by the pool they had stations for burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, nachos, and all that kind of food. all food even though is it buffet style is very good. I went to the deli and it was just as good if not better then any local deli you will find. Breakfast was also good with all different station as well. Since are ship was sold out the lido deck did get crowded at times. you had to wait in line for about 15+ min sometimes and it was hard to find a seat.

main dining room: the only thing I didn't like. the food in the main dining room for the most part was very small portions and not that great of quality. they have a everyday menu and a special menu that changed every day. a lot of the food on the special menu wasn't to great of a choice and we wound up eating a lot of the same things. we asked our waiter every night to double the portions because they were so small. they had a separate waiter for drinks and it took forever. you will probably get one drink for dinner. wasn't to much of fan of the main dinning room

service: all the people on the ship were nice. we had zero problems with any of the employees on the ship. all seemed to like their jobs and all of them work hard. we actually tipped the guy who cleaned are room extra because of the hard work he does (your room gets cleaned 2 times a day). some people were yelling at the bartenders but people make mistakes. I found them all to be very good at their jobs and they always have a conversation with you. very good people aboard the pride!

Gym: crowded at times but overall they have a great gym. awesome views from the gym and they have awesome locker rooms. they have really nice showers (better then your stateroom).

port Canaveral: we were going to do Disney but by the time you get their you only have 5 hours and if you get the usual Florida afternoon storm it ruins your whole day, and a ton of money. 4 people was 600$ not going through the ship. we decided to go to cocoa beach. good beach nothing special but nothing bad. we had a good day relaxing in the sun. if you go through the ship the shuttle is 18$ and takes you back and forth all day long. the taxi outside the ship are 6$ per person each way. about a 10 min ride to and from port.

Nassau: we planned to snorkel but it rained so we went to shakeez. it was a bar just outside of the port and it was great. you can sit on their deck they have really good food, beer that cheaper then on the ship, and free wifi. they were handing out shots to everyone and even the dancers from the ship were there. it was a fun place. a lot of people we talked to said senor frogs was also a fun time. we did go check out atlantis and it was cool. did not do the tour because how expensive they were it was crazy. we found out there is a way around it.

Freeport: rained again so we went to the shops. nothing that great it was just a small outdoor small with some stores. went to a bar there for a little which was good. there is a store there that you can buy very good Cubans. after went to the radison hotel and had fun at their casino. they let our 17 year olds drink and gamble in the Bahamas they really could care less as long as you have the money.

overall: great trip awesome time and I would recommend and even do it again. if you have booked it already you are going to have a lot of fun. we talked to a lot of people on the ship and didn't meet a person who wasn't having fun.
