Disappointing cruise: MSC Opera Cruise Review by paddybash

We were horrified that the balcony in our cabin was open and not enclosed the distance between the rails was frightening. and the balcony was so narrow we had to squeeze past each other to get on.
The food was a bit strange and sometimes a bit bland and the self service was pandemonium. The entertainment was a bit samey and not always entertaining with the exception of the mime artist but More to watch flamenco dancing only for 45mins was too long a bit of variety was needed. We had children chasing each other up and down the deck corridors most of the day which we though was dangerous practise and could have caused an accident.
The only saving grace was that we met some lovely people of all ages and made some lasting friendships.
Due to a misunderstanding by the tour company and the ship time the included coach trip to the winery in Lisbon lasted 6 1/2 hours instead of 4 1/2 hours One and a bit hours of this spent on the coach at the dock waiting for people who had decided not to go, therefore we did not have time to walk through Lisbon. For a balcony cabin much smaller than we had on other cruises. Balcony we considered a danger as it was not enclosed and shower room was dreadful with very small shower and a shower curtain which stuck to you when you had a shower. I would point out that my husband and myself are not overweight. Hallway noisy due to kids running and chasing each other.
Seemed like a training cruise
Overall a great experience
