We booked the combo wildlife, whales and glacier. In truth, it's hard to get it all in in one day. One of the events will fall a little slack - and for us it was the glacier. It's amazingly beautiful, but we were only able to see it for an hour or so. The whale tour was a blast. If you can, book a small boat. Ours wasn't huge, but held 40 people. People get in the way and the boat can't get as close. Smaller boats can accommodate a small group and be right up close.
The zips are kind of short in this experience, but definitely fun. We took a family of 4 (kids ages 17 and 12) and all of us had a blast. The crew operating the zips was safe and fun the entire time. I really like how the tour starts with a treed rope setup that validates your fear (or lack thereof) of heights and your ok-ness with squirrely ropes and perches. This is a fun adventure.
This is a must in Skagway. The rail trip provides an unbelievable view of the surrounding area, narrates a history of the gold miners trek over the pass and the engineering marvel of the railroad building, and you get to be on a train! This is fun and well-worth the cost
This tour was awful. After being mauled by the different tour companies as soon as we set foot on land and paying $10 per person just to take a bus into town, we opted for the Big Bus Tour. This is not a good option for anyone wanting to learn about the sites and have a chance to get off the bus. The staff (mostly the driver) was not helpful or audible most the trip. The lousy pre-recorded message was horrible and the driver never found a rhythm starting and stopping the awful recording as he actually passed the site. It was awful and recommend not using this company at all. In addition, downtown Victoria is pelted with bird droppings! One of my party, and another lady in another party, each were pooped on repeatedly standing on the sidewalk. As you realize, looking down, the sidewalks are streaked with droppings and the birds are never-ending overhead - WATCH OUT!!
