My husband and I spent two nights in Amsterdam prior to boarding for our twelve day cruise to Scandinavia and Russia. We chose it because of the itinerary as neither of us had visited any of the ports before with the exception of a visit I had to St Petersburg on the early 80s...
Our cabin on deck 6 was immaculate and storage was excellent so we had plenty of space as suitcases were hidden away under the bed.
We just loved the ship. It was a great size and big enough to have a great variety of bars and entertainment but so so big as to feel overwhelming.
Captain Tasos was very visible and took part in so many activities on board with great humour. He also gave fascinating and witty talks on two occasions in the main theatre which were well attended. The cruise manager John was the best we have ever encountered and his entertainment manager Mark was a real comedian. They made a great double act on their own....
The ship was spotless and food standards were the highest I've come across on a cruise. We ate once in the Ocean Liners restaurant which we feel was of Michelin Star standard. However the main restaurant food was delicious and the waiting staff attentive and fun. The steaks were superb.
We were slightly outnumbered being only 2 of 67 Brits on this cruise - most of the guests were American and we met some delightful people from all over the world.
There was never a problem finding a sun lounger and as the weather was excellent, we made the most of the sunbathing opportunities.
Our favourite spot was the Caffe Bacio which we frequented on several occasions most days. The staff there were great fun and always took the time to chat.
All in all we had a wonderful experience and would love to cruise with Celebrity again but it is not cheap!,
