Great trip to Baltic

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Baltic Sea
Embarkation: Southampton

I just got back from 14night Baltic cruise on Crown Princess. In a word "Incredible". Ship was very nice, rooms clean, well kept; ship shows only minor signs of wear. It is a little quiet at night, not a lot of night activities, and casino is not crowded at all. Have lots of ports and sights to see so most people sleep instead of gambling the night away. Food in dining room is very good. Crown grill is just OK, not as good as other specialty restaurants on other ships. I wish Princess would use shower doors instead of curtains. Ships production shows were great, very high energy especially "Disco".
We used Smiths airport taxi for transportation to and from Heathrow, and would recommend them highly. http://www.smithsforairports.com/index.html.
They were always early and very friendly.
We used TJ travel for four city tours, Tallinn, St. Petersburg (2days), Helsinki, and Stockholm. Had a private bus for each city and great guides they were very informative and willing to More answer all questions. We went to the folk show in St Pete which was nice, and great to see the theater.
Did our own tours in Belgium, Copenhagen, and Oslo. I would recommend having a shuttle service for Zeebrug to Bruges or Brussels is you stop there. They don't have a lot of taxi service at the port and ship charges 15Euro to get to train depot. Taxi charges 50Euro from port to Bruges for an 8 person van, just meet up with others to share a van and gets cost down.
All the old cities have lots of cobblestone streets so a good pair of walking shoes is a must. You must be ready to be very busy on the trip since there were only 4 sea days. Less

Cabin review: Crown Princess e516

E516 view is completely blocked by lifeboat, would not recommend if possible. Very close to midship lift which is nice for getting around ship
