Ship Facts: Celebrity Constellation Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Constellation Deck Plans
Our best cruise yet

This was our third Celebrity cruise and our best yet. The package included air travel from the UK to Amsterdam to board the ship. The arrangements went well apart from a little confusion around ground transfer arrangements in Amsterdam. Our cabin, although an inside one was fine in all respects apart from the lack of the window! Our cabin steward did his job very well and in fact all the staff aboard the ship without exception were friendly, helpful and service oriented. They obviously have excellent training and gave good eye contact and appeared happy. The officers and crew were very visible around the ship and in the restaurants.

The food was excellent in all the restaurants we used. These included San Marco, Ocean Liners, Aqua Cafe and the OceanView Cafe. The food variety was good with excellent flavour and good portion sizes. We used the Aqua Cafe a few times. This has healthy food and isn't just 'low-fat' or 'organic' but has controlled amounts of carb, fats and protein in well thought-thru recipies.

We thought the entertainment was generally very good but some of the UK acts (and I speak as a Brit!) were a bit naff and UK-centric.

Shore Excursions were generally OK, but overpriced as always. The Stockholm tour we booked should have been 3 hours but in practice was only 1.25 hours due to a port diversion. I note a similar problem on a recent review from another person. There is poor communication between Shore Excursion staff and the crew when a diversion has to be made. We did finally get a 50% refund after complaining. It was annoying to find a Hop on Hop Off bus passing the ship in Copenhagen which we would have used, having booked a self-guided walking tour via the ship which I don't recommend as it doesn't work well.

The state of the ship was excellent having been refurbished recently.

Celebrity booked us a Private land transfer which we didn't really want and this caused confusion with the 'standard' bus transfers. Do avoid any private transfers on this cruise and go with the bus transfer as it's cheaper, easier and works well.

In summary despite a few minor criticisms which any cruise would have we thought this cruise was excellent and well managed by Celebrity overall. I would recommend it to anyone.
