A Royal Family Vacation!
Our family group sailing on the Royal Princess consisted of myself, DH (we are both Elite on Princess), his daughter, son in law and two little granddaughters ages 4 & 9. In their words, out of a scale of 1 to 10, the cruise was a 15! That about sums it up!
The ship is simply gorgeous. The main Piazza area is a hub of activity and restaurants including the wonderful International Cafe', Alfredo's Pizzaria, gift ships, entertainment, etc. It is a great place to sit with a cup of coffee and people watch. There are three pools, one of which is for adults only, which is a wonderful feature.
The main dining room had excellent food and service. We were especially pleased with the fish entrees, the desserts especially the souffl's, the pastas and the salads. Our wait staff was outstanding and did a wonderful job with the children. Princess has made changes to the Horizon Court on this ship and it worked very well. The food choices are expanded, excellent in quality and More there are multiple buffet lines and plenty of seating including some wonderful tables on the deck behind the Horizon Court.
Entertainment was varied and the Cruise Director Ron Goodman and his staff did a great job of being very visible during our cruise. The children tried the Children's Program and liked it so well they wanted to go back several more times.
Cabins are nicely appointed, balcony size smaller than normal but fine for us. This is a lovely ship and we all enjoyed our cruise very much! Less
