Azura - 17 Nights Med

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Southampton

We have just returned from a 17 night cruise to the Med. Overall the holiday was great. Service in the restaurants and bars was excellent and our waiters (Poly and Richard), wine waiter(Giovanni), cabin steward(Samsy),Head Waiter(Govan) and Restaurant Manager (Kevin) et al could not have been more helpful, professional and efficient. The Food was excellent at every single sitting whether this was morning, lunch or afternoon. The staff overall were friendly and conversational without being intrusive.

Similarly the Entertainments Director (Neil) and his team could not have been more enthusiastic, friendly and my family and all thoroughly enjoyed the 'sail away' parties and the overall entertainment provided.

We also attended a number of the shows in the Playhouse Theatre; Gareth Oliver - Ventriloquist had us rolling with laughter, Clem Curtis - singer, got the audience

dancing and clapping etc.

We also went to two performances by Peter Cutler - More singer/entertainer, which were both excellent. Mixture of 'swing music' and Michael Buble interspersed with amusing stories which had the audience laughing. The finale' was a performance of'Bring him home' from Les Miserables which was excellent.

Overall for all of the above a 10/10.

Now for the bad news. Our Cabin E103 was situated right and the front of the bow and adjacent to the 'crew area' where members of the crew held parties most nights until the early hours of the morning. This resulted in noise into our cabin disturbing our childrens sleep. We complained on numerous occasions (several times after midnight)and the Hotel/Reception staff (Jozen and Prakash)treated us with a level of disdain which was beyond belief. Comments from them such as ' well the crew need to relax' did not go down well ! They made no firm effort to rectify the issue and stated that this was a matter to be taken up with their Head office when we returned home (which we are now doing).

We managed to film the noise so have evidence to illustrate the problem. Furthermore we met several other passengers in adjoining cabins who had similarly complained but as with us were told the situation was a 'one off' and no one else had complained !

In summary, great ship, great helpful staff(in the main), great entertainment and food. However the holiday was tainted by the poor behaviour of the Senior Hotel staff. Less

Cabin review: Azura Inside Stateroom A Deck

E103- Cabin fine but adjacent to Crew area where regular parties were held into the early hours of the morning. Loud music, doors slamming continued to disturb us during the night. Despite numerous complaints the Hotel Management staff failed to rectify the situation and ignored our difficulties. Very disappointed with P&O's onboard treatment of us.
