We recently returned home after completing the Imperial Jewels of China Tour with Viking River Cruises on board Viking Emerald. Whilst we were very busy, with quite a lot of land-content and walking, the trip was wonderful with a set of new experiences and new sights every day.

The overall organisation of our tour was expertly prepared and managed and our Tour Escort and Local Guides were very knowledgeable and highly professional. There is a quite a lot of walking with this tour, however those with difficulties were well-catered for with personal assistants and wheel-chairs readily available. The days on board Viking Emerald were relaxing, comfortable and quite luxurious, with the inclusion of a gym, beauty salon and massage centre. The ship is well-appointed and the staff were highly professional. China is an amazing country and the Chinese amazing people. We highly recommend this tour. We will be doing another cruise with Viking River Cruises in the foreseeable future.

Our ports are not available in the list of available options, however all cities and ports that we visited had something different to offer, the land tours were professional with expert local guides. Disembarking and re-embarking the ship was safe and simple. On one occasion when the walk up the hill after disembarking the ship was very steep, there were assistants available to help those who needed it.
