This is the second cruise that my husband and I have taken, but our first was on Carnival. Our first cruise was a 5 day cruise also out of New Orleans during August 2002.
This cruise took us to Costa Maya, Mexico, Santo Tomas de Castillo, Guatemala, Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. We left from and returned to New Orleans, Louisiana.
On this cruise, we were accompanied by two other couples. One couple were first time cruisers and the other couple were experienced cruisers. None of us had ever cruised with Norwegian Cruise Lines before. We flew into New Orleans from Denver a day before the cruise to visit some family that my husband and I have in New Orleans. My husband and I and one of the couples stayed with family rather than getting a hotel the night before the cruise. The other couple stayed at a hotel in the French Quarter and were able to see the sights before sailing the next day.
