Ship Facts: Carnival Glory Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Glory Deck Plans
Carnival Glory July 21-28th 2013

We drove from Kingston, NY to Boston on the Morning of the 21st.(Sunday) We left approx. 7:15am and arrived at the Terminal at 11:00. I dropped off my wife and another couple with the bags and drove over to the Cell Phone lot for parking.(4min drive) I paid 60.00 for the week and then elected to walk back to the terminal, as it was very close. I arrived at the terminal at 11:20am and we were on the ship and purchased the Cheers program at the Lobby Bar at 11:45am.

Off to the Lido Deck to the Fish and Chips(food just okay). Then over to the Iguana Bar for Drinks. Then got Guys Burgers(the best burgers I have ever had)

Went to our Cabin at about 3pm an unpacked. Met at the Lobby Bar before our 6pm dinner.

Dinners were very good every night. Food was of good quality and service was good. We ate at the dinning room each night for dinner and never had a bad meal.

1st Port (Monday) Portland, Me.. Not impressed with the city, we just walked around some and then back to the ship. Weather was cloudy in the morning, but cleared up later in the day.

2nd Port Saint John(Tuesday) Pouring rain all day, we did not even attempt to get off the ship.

Sea Day(Wednesday) Rained most of the day, partipated in trivia, gambled some, and watched some other activities throughout the day.

3rd Port Halifax(Thursday). Went off the ship around 10am and walked around the town. Went to the Alexander Keith Brewery and took the tour. Very nice it is set up to be in the 1800's as you tour the brewery. Very well done and worth the 20.00 fee. It rained some in the morning and cleared up in the afternoon. We spend the afternoon back on the ship getting some sun.

4th Port Sydney(Friday).. We thought this was the best port. We walked around town, very nice shops, stopped into Tim Hortons for coffee and donuts, very good. They had a nice set up right at the port with alot of vendors with some unique items. I would go back to Sydney again.

Overall weather was just okay.. Friday was Hot about 85 in Sydney, the other days were cooler, the fist sea day was very cool probably a high of 58 or so.

We did not do any formal excursions, just did our own thing at the ports.

Ship Highlights.. Guys Burgers, Alchemy Bar, Burrito Bar(especially for breakfast). The Motown Show, Cheers program and the Crew.

Things we did not care for.. The Diva's Show, Having alot of activities in the casino. Trivia all day, and Kareoke. Because of this, people would take all the chairs from the slot machines and use them to sit right in the main aisle way to enjoy the triia or singing. If you wanted to gamble at alot of the machines during the day, you had to stand as their were no chairs and it was hard to walk through the area as people were blocking the aisle. We also did not care for James in the Piano Bar, it seemed he felt supperior to the guests and would make remarks about songs people wanted to request and here.

Not a big fan of how the Glory is set up. Having a Rest. in the middle of decks 3 and 4 means you cannot get through on those two decks from one end of the ship to the other. The Serenty area(adults only) is at front of the ship and the adult only pool is at the back of the ship. Seems like the two areas should be combined as only adult area. The serenty area also does not have a bar, so you had to get your own or rely on servers all the time. The adult only pool had the sliding glass roof, so on the 1st sea day with the temp never got to 60, the kids were all hangin in the adult pool area, but could only watch as the adults would swim.

Overall, we enjoyed our cruise very much, but I would probably not sail on the glory again, as I believe the ship was designed very poorly and hindered the enjoyment of some activities.
